CX-30 fender liner debris issue

I was under our 2023 CX-30 applying fluid film and found a bunch of debris behind the fender liner, just behind the front wheels. Got a good handful out. If you park under trees or plan to keep your car long-term, check this area. Really hidden so you might not notice it but I'm pretty sure something might go wrong from this. Will post more once I remove the liner completely.

That area definitely traps debris and moisture it is perfect recipe for rust if left unchecked. Thanks for the heads up haha. Definitely going to check mine too. Looking forward to your update after removing the liner!

Whos, nice call there, we know these liners, haha, real magnet for leaves, dirt, and all kinds of junk and the rust yeah defnitely cos of the moisture too

Nice catch! Those spots are sneaky, I've found heaps of junk behind liners in the past as well. Any moisture lingering there is bound to cause issues. Thanks for the heads-up! Have you spotted any early signs of rust yet, or is it just debris for now?

This reminds me of a similar issue my friend had with his Subaru Forester.
He was getting some rust starting on the lower part of the fender, and when he took the liner off, it was packed with pine needles and dirt that had been collecting there for years!
The drainage must have gotten clogged.
It's crazy how much gunk can get trapped in those spots.
I've been checking mine more regularly since I learned about it!
