my dad is having another issue with his new Mazda CX-30. He's had it for about seven months now, and a new problem has popped up.

When he turns the steering wheel almost to full lock on the left side, he gets this weird chafing noise. It sounds a lot like the tire is rubbing on the mudshield or something similar, but he's taken a look and can't see anything obvious.
Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have an idea of what could be causing it? Any advice would be a huge help!

My cousin had a 2022 CX-30 and noticed a faint clicking during tight turns, it was found to be a loose splash shield that shifted under pressure. A quick dealer visit sorted it out. Try having a tech check it out, especially if it's under warranty!

Heard that before and it usually ends up being the plastic wheel liner or mud flap catching just slightly when you're at full lock, especially if the tires have worn in a bit or the alignment's shifted. Sometimes a small pebble or bit of debris stuck in there can make the sound too
