Sound system upgrade

i have the 2021 CX-30 with 8 speakers and I'm looing to upgrade the system. Can I retrofit the Bose system from the upper trims or it's aftermarket time? What are my options and what won't cost me an arm and a leg?

Upgrading to the bose system from higher trims is doable but pretty involved, different amp, wiring, and coding needed. It can get expensive and complicated, for a budget friendly boost, swapping your current speakers for better aftermarket ones and adding an amp is usually the way to go

While at first glance it would sound like it would be a plug and play, it probably won't be and I agree with @Bithia.po that an aftermarket solution is better. Now, let's talk about something else. If you're good with tools and DIY you can do this yourself, but you'll need to make sure you're careful. There's going to be a lot of plastic trim removal and you'll want to be gentle not to damage them. If you're not sure you can do it or feel like it's too complex, I'd recommend taking it to a shop that specializes with these kinds of upgrades.
